Searching the Littlefield Court Docket
The official Littlefield Municipal Court page is an information and contact page, not a docket search screen. It exposes no public field for a citation number, name, date, or court selection. Use its phone, fax, mail, or counter route first. Have the citation number, appearance date, name as printed, and issuing agency ready.
- Read the court and agency on the citation.
- Wait until the next business day, as the city directs, then contact the municipal court.
- Supply the citation number and appearance date and ask for the current setting and status.
- If the file belongs to a JP or higher court, use that named custodian instead.
- Confirm the time, place, and required response before appearing.
re:SearchTX can show integrated state matters, but it is not confirmed as a complete index of this non-court-of-record municipal docket. No result is inconclusive.
Littlefield Has Two Court Routes
Littlefield is both the county seat and a city with its own municipal court. The city court is at 100 W. 6th Street, Littlefield, Texas 79339, with mail sent to P.O. Box 1267. Its phone is (806) 385-5161 extension 250 and fax is (806) 485-0226. Published hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
The Lamb County courthouse is separately located at 100 6th Drive. JP3 works from Room 108 there. Similar central locations do not merge the records. Ask which unit issued the citation before choosing an office.

Littlefield Municipal Court Basics
Littlefield describes its Municipal Court as a non-court-of-record court. It hears traffic, parking and nonparking, city-ordinance, and other Class C misdemeanor cases from police, fire, the fire marshal, city management, code enforcement, and animal control. Felony, family, probate, and higher civil cases do not begin there.
The published Littlefield code supplies the court's structural basis.

The code image documents the city court framework, but it does not provide a public case-results list or document viewer. The municipal clerk remains the source for the live record.
Littlefield Citation Timing
The city says signing a citation is a promise to appear, not a not-guilty plea. It asks the recipient to contact the court no earlier than the next business day and no later than the appearance date, usually about ten business days. A new citation may not be ready at once.
Use the appearance date as a response marker, then ask whether it is also a hearing time. A docket may later show a plea, payment, reset, compliance event, trial, or disposition. The latest clerk entry controls.
Court Dates and Settings in Littlefield
A Littlefield setting should be verified directly because the city does not display a public calendar. Ask the clerk to distinguish the appearance date from a later arraignment, pretrial, trial, or compliance setting. If a date changes, request the new event and status.
| Date | The current docketed event, not the issue date. |
|---|---|
| Time | Confirm whether it is a response window or fixed hearing. |
| Courtroom | Use the city court, not JP3 by assumption. |
| Judge | Verify the current presiding official. |
| Setting Type | Appearance, plea, pretrial, trial, or compliance. |
Littlefield Courtroom Entry Rules
The official Littlefield court instructions publish unusual security detail.

The city lists weapons, electronic devices, camera or recording equipment, tobacco and vaping products, food, drink, and certain bags as prohibited or controlled items. Bags may be searched. Inappropriate conduct or illegal items can lead to further action.
These are municipal rules, not countywide rules. Review the current city notice before an appearance. The page also mentions a youth diversion plan, which should be discussed with the court rather than assumed available in every case.
Littlefield Traffic Tickets
A Littlefield city citation goes to the municipal docket identified on the paper. The court lists cash, money order, and credit or debit card payment methods, and says other options may be discussed. Confirm the current method and consequence before sending funds. Payment and a not-guilty response are different choices.
A JP3 ticket follows the precinct packet, not the city rules. The distinction is developed on the Lamb County traffic ticket page. Keep proof of what was filed or paid and later verify the docket entry.
Littlefield Population Context
The Texas Demographic Center reports 5,943 residents in the 2020 Census and an estimate of 5,727 on January 1, 2024. Census QuickFacts also reports the 2020 count and 6.28 square miles of land. Those numbers explain Littlefield's place as the largest selected city and county seat.
Population is not caseload. No official annual Littlefield municipal citation count was found. District performance measures cannot be relabeled as city figures.
Where Littlefield Cases End Up
The city court keeps its original file. Under current Chapter 45A, an appeal from a municipal judgment generally goes to the county court or proper county court. Littlefield calls its court non-court-of-record, making the trial-de-novo rule relevant. A trial de novo is a new trial.
Docket flow: Littlefield Municipal Court › Lamb County Court on appeal. District Court handles its own felony, civil, and family jurisdiction; those cases do not pass through the city court.
The current Chapter 45A controls appeal steps. Confirm deadlines and bond terms with the issuing court.
Littlefield State Search Limits
re:SearchTX can help locate public filings or hearings when a Lamb state court is integrated. Littlefield Municipal Court coverage is not confirmed as complete. The OCA citation search focuses on citation-by-publication and notice records, not every city traffic ticket.
Use those systems as clues. If a result appears, compare the court and case type. If none appears, return to the Littlefield clerk rather than concluding that the citation vanished.
Littlefield Docket Fields to Request
A focused status request should ask for the cause or citation number, style or caption, alleged violation, filing date, plea, next setting, and disposition if one has been entered. A filing is a document given to the clerk. A setting is a scheduled event. A disposition is the court's recorded result. None of those fields alone should be read as the whole case.
- Citation
- The charging paper and its local identifier.
- Setting
- A scheduled appearance, plea, pretrial, trial, or compliance event.
- Disposition
- The result entered by the court.
- Certified copy
- A clerk-authenticated reproduction, distinct from a phone status.
Ask the Littlefield clerk which of these fields can be given by phone and which require a written copy request. A status response may be faster than a document order, but it does not replace a certified record when certification is needed.
Littlefield Court Record Access Rules
Request an existing Littlefield record with enough detail to find it. Name the court, citation number, record type, and date range. Ask separately for status, a plain copy, or a certified copy. A custodian need not create analysis, and confidential data may be redacted.
Key Rules:
Texas judicial-record policy explains Rule 12 access and exemptions.
Government Code Chapter 552 states that judiciary access follows court rules and other law.
Chapter 45A provides the municipal criminal appeal route.
Call ahead to verify hours, inspection terms, and copy charges. A focused request is easier to route than a demand for every record tied to a broad name. If the requested item is unavailable, ask for a written reason and the correct custodian rather than treating the response as proof that no case exists. Keep the request date, staff contact, quoted fee, and delivery terms with the resulting record.
Littlefield Requests After Judgment
A municipal judgment does not move the original Littlefield file merely because the time to appeal has begun. The city clerk remains the source for the city judgment, docket sheet, and local papers. If an appeal is perfected, the County Court receives a separate appellate record under the governing statute. Ask which clerk holds the exact document needed.
For a plain copy, name the document and desired delivery method. For certification, state that need at the start and ask for the current charge. For an inspection, confirm the time and any rule for devices or bags, since Littlefield publishes courtroom restrictions that may affect what can be carried into the building. Do not send sensitive identifiers by ordinary email unless the court specifically requests them through an official channel.
The best confirmation is the latest signed order or docketed disposition from the custodian. A payment receipt, an old setting notice, or an empty statewide result may answer only part of the question.
Littlefield's municipal page also makes clear that city enforcement can come from more than police traffic work. Fire, fire marshal, code, animal control, and city management matters may reach the same court. Describe the issuing department when asking the clerk to search, especially if no citation number is at hand. That detail can narrow a name search and reduce confusion with a county case.
If the clerk cannot locate a recent matter, verify spelling, issue date, agency, and the court printed on the paper. Do not broaden the request to unrelated Lamb records until those details have been checked. A Littlefield municipal search and a JP3 search are separate acts even when both offices are only a short distance apart.
